Instant Payouts - Direct
Direct Payouts
Direct payouts allow merchants to choose which customer bank accounts are used. This instruction is used for Options 1–3 from Instant Payouts.
Direct payouts give the merchant complete control of all aspects of payouts, and there are no Yaspa UI components.
There are multiple reasons Direct payouts may be the best choice for merchants:
- Merchants who favour an optimal UX, as the customer does not interact with any other site or company — increasing confidence and decreasing the length of the journey.
- For AML purposes – merchants might want to only allow payouts to accounts used for pay-ins. This is known as a closed loop payout. Here the merchant can completely control the whole experience by submitting the account to be used to Yaspa.
- For AML purposes – Merchants might have preferences between which pay-in accounts are used. They might keep track of the amount of funds deposited on each account and then only allow withdrawals of proportionate amounts to those accounts. This goes one stage further than the closed loop payout and would require the merchant to tell the customer which accounts could be used and then the amounts, and then submit the request to Yaspa as a direct payout.
- Merchants wish to refund a specific card directly — perhaps as part of a Customer Support flow — in this case the customer is not initiating the flow. Here, Yaspa is simply moving the money on the merchant request.
